There are plenty of things to see and do at a country fair. Besides all the different farm animals and equipment to look at, there are many buildings to visit. One of those buildings is the Country Living Building. It may not be the largest building on our fairgrounds but it does contain the most individual exhibits. Located behind the Grandstand between Historic Treasures Museum and the horse barns, this building certainly has “Something to Crow About”. Here you will find articles hand made by men, women and children in Schoharie County and surrounding areas. There are all kinds of arts and crafts including sewing, painting, crocheting, knitting, quilting, photography, weaving and much more. You will also find a section of baked goods. Everything here is brought in for competition. There is a large section of antique items. Many of these items are family heirlooms and are brought in for competition with like items. This building also contains a large school work exhibit. These things are made by children from Schoharie County. As well as all the above displays we have demonstrations going on throughout the day. Two of our demonstrators are local gals Sharon Kruppenbacher and Susan Carver. Sharon will be weaving on her large barn frame loom. She will also have other smaller looms for people to look at and try. Sharon and Susan will be spinning with different types of fibers. There will also be other demonstrations going on throughout the day. Please stop in, say hello and take a look at all our beautiful displays.
